"Blown Away" Z/28

early pro touring Camaro

"Blown Away" is a 1969 Camaro Z/28 being an X33 on the cowl tag, reserved for base Z/28's. The original DZ302 engine was lost by the original owner. He now sports a well built .060 over 350 now being 360 cubic inches. The engine is built as a BLOWER engine being 8-1 compression, studded and O ringed. Heads are well ported LT1 angle plug 2.02/1.60's. With the Weiand Blower making 14.5 PSI, this little engine makes 720hp and RPM that only the right foot can control. Of course I keep the larger pulley on so Im at 10PSI and still making close to that 600hp mark making this one fast Camaro.

the rest of the Car has been restored w/the front lowered 3" and the rear 2". The 12 bolt rear was taken out and a Dana 60 w/4.10 gears, sure grip and Moser 35 spline axles now resides. Traction devices include Cal-Trac traction bars, a stout stabilizer bar and Eaton 4 leaf springs w/2" of ark removed. Stock were 5 leaf springs. The M21 close ratio trans is still in use but shifted with a Hurst Super Shifter 3 instead of the Hurst competition Plus negating the addition of a bulge to the trans tunnel.

The car was set up to go fast around corners as well as straight line. The wheels are Halibrand w/BFG 275/60 drag TA's on the rear and BFG 215/60 on the front. I have updated tubular control arms and 4 piston Aerospace Front Brakes.

All in all, this has been a fun car.
