You can buy used and race to have fun for around $4,000 to start, but if you really want to run competitively, the sky's the limit. my son ran top 3 all the time with 1 win in his second year of racing. I have around $10,000 in it, that includes everything,tools, enclosed trailer, driving suit, carbon fiber helmet,kart stand, gloves, shoes,pop up canopy,etc...will vary with different areas of the country.
