Gray Ghost II

This is what I started with, a clean 102,000 mile survivor from the southwest US. Kind of a tired old gal in needed of some fresh make up and lipstick

Fresh from a winter in the body shop

Rear profile, air shocks replaced with KYB's all around, rear 1" rear sway bar added, front sway bar increased to 1 1/4".

American 15 x 7 with 235-70 x 15 BFG's, later GM sport mirrors, new glass, new chrome

467 BBC, Vortec Pro/Mark Jones, 500+ HP/ 580 ft.lbs torque on dyno adjusted to sea level. 770 cfm Holley, HEI, Holley fuel pump, quick fuel regulator, Edelbrock intake with 1" spacer and GM heat shield. Late GM truck valve covers with VHT black wrinkle finish and truck wire looms, Taylor wires, alloy water pump.

Fresh upholstery, original bench seat swapped out for a mid-70"s Monte Carlo bench with arm rest. Seat belts converted to shoulder belts with retractors. Interior floor was cleaned to rust free metal and dynamat-type soundproofing applied.

Moser 12 bolt rear, non-C clip axles, 3:42 ratio with Eaton Detroit TruTrac posi. Spohn 4 link bars with adjustable uppers, Air Lift bags with individual fills.

The start in the body shop

It gets worse before getting better

The other side of "worse"

Finally, in the paint booth

The real finishing begins

Beautiful.........and you can haul anything with that big block and haul it in a hurry. Very nice upgrades with subtle changes, like the SS stitching in the seats. You took this build all the way to the end. Very nice work.

Rob, thank you for the kind comments, back in the 70's I owned a 64 coupe, originally a 340/327, updated to a LT-1 short block, turbo canted plug heads,a Z-28 intake with a 600 Holley, wide ratio Muncie and a 3:70 posi. Loved that car but X-wife got it and then totaled it...end of story. Again, thank you.

I like the raked stance on it.......just a little bit, not too high in the rear
