Anything different between the Canadian and the USA version back then?

Canadian Pontiac's were based on Chevrolet's. My 57 Pontiac is a 57 Chev in disguise. The drive train, chassis, front and rear suspension and much of the body is Chevrolet. These cars were built in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada on the same assembly lines as the Chevrolet General Motors Canada.

My dad owned a car such as this one from 1959 to 1970. I grew up with it and have many fond memories of my dads 57 Pontiac. These old photos are of our family 57 Pontiac and not my 57. I show the car in memory of my dad Anthony (1927-1993). Cheers. George

I can't think of any better reason for displaying this car. I'm sure your dad was proud of his car. Thanks for the added info.

I noticed your dad's car did not have the bullets in the front bumper and your car has them. Were they a factory option or aftermarket ?

My dad had put the rubber 57 Chev bullet tips on his 57 Pontiac. On my 57 i put the 57 Chev custom bullet tips. Nether one of these bumper tips were ever offered on the 57 Pontiac originally. I could not help myself, i had to have these on because they look like they belong there. Cheers. George

I was lucky enuf to have owned a '57 Star Chief convertible. The car was black with a white top. Mine was the V8 with a pink and gray vinyl interior. Before you laff too much.....the girls loved it. After I put the continental kit on it, it looked like it was 20 feet long. I really do miss it.

I remember a road trip to Canada with our new 57 Pontiac. When we stopped for fuel the attendants wanted to know what engine we had. Their boss' new Pontiac had a 283 Chevy engine with Pontiac valve covers.

These 283 Pontiac script valve covers for the 1957 are very hard to find today.
