I went with my brother John in his pristine 68 Corvette Convertible. I drove to the show with the top down and we had a blast.

Driving his 68 Vette with no power steering is a challenge but I loved it! Top down and enjoying the ride. We got a lot of thumbs up on the way and at the show!

That 52 Chopped Convertible Caddy has an eye catching look and paint. Never really seen many chopped verts in my days. But if it can be thought of, most likely it shall be done.

Designers have shown and proven that to us time after time. I just rewatched the video on the Mercury Cruiser Concept car that had over 50 options on it.

Well like the rivers that rarely flow here in AZ, my chances at car shows have also evaporated unless I want to drive the 4 to 6 hours to the northern parts of AZ like Flagstaff.

I hope you didn't get spoiled driving your brother's Vette. I mean they are addictive. So watch you don't get STUNG by the STING RAY.

I love my little town Oyster Bay tucked away on Long Island's Gold Coast! I never thought I would live here some day.

The cars at the show were pristine and I love that they close off Main Street for the car show.

Spectators young and old walking the street looking at all the cars is so New Englandish.

It was great being with my younger brother John and telling him all the car makes and years. He's the youngest of 5 brothers and sisters and is also my Godson.

Adding pics is okay, just don't be taking them away. Cars like great people, the more the merrier.

I do find it funny that the pic of the 2021 Corvette and the Red Ferrari under it, look at the similarity. I won't buy either one since I wouldn't want to come out from a store and not know which one is mine, and take the wrong one home. That's my reason and I'm sticking to it.

It is a confirmation of how technology now drives design instead of vice versa.

Some call it competition, but there's healthy competition and then there's what I described above.

Zora's hate for Ferrari flows in the veins on the GM designers but sadly, GM is the last one to the party and the Corvette will be judged against the Ferrari, and the only claim to fame is, the Corvette is cheaper. A word that is unknown in the Ferrari vernacular.

You can't afford a Rolex, buy a knockoff, or buy a Timex. But the car lovers and owners inside already know...what the gold ring is. And sadly, it's not the Corvette. It's close but it is seen as a knockoff.

If you want to test the theory, put both cars in front of a true car lover and tell them they can have either one FREE. No strings attached.

Which would you choose???????

Post Script: Look how many C8's are for sale, and how the prices keep dropping. Look at Ferraris and watch their resale value climb and the rare opportunity to own one.

POST SCRIPT PART DEUX: GM betrayed the Corvette loyalists with the C8. Few clamored for a mid -engine design. C7's now bring more than C8s.

The true Corvette Lovers have spoken. And now GM's taking the Corvette to electric...you'd think they'd learn.

I could be ALL WRONG here, this is only my insight into what is and was AMERICAS GREATEST SPORTSCAR.

When my brother John told me he was looking to buy a new Corvette I told him why? Buy a classic Corvette which will appreciate in value over the C8. He listened and got the 68 Convertible for a fraction of the price of a new one and will only go up in value.

Yes the Ferrari is the King in my opinion. Sleek, Italian, powerful and if you can afford it great. But it's a racing machine that needs a lot of attention (and money) and not for everyone.

Cobras and Corvettes had their lineage here in the states, not in Europe and did well staying true to their roots.

But now, with our GLOBAL MARKETS, the bullseye has moved from US, to other markets. We are left searching for American Roots, in foreign soils. We are not the target audience for design, engineering, sales and loyalty anymore. All we are is customers. Not a family which has been broken up thanks to political agendas.

Hard to believe it even affects things like cars now. But count the number of foreign brands you pass while our loyalty to brands is no longer rewarded.

The opposite of PROgress.... is CONgress. And that is where the problem started many moons ago.
