Binbrook, Ontario, Canada Car Show.

Sunday July, 28, 2024.

I took in the 15 th annual Binbrook car show on my lonesome with my 57 Pontiac. This event is held by the Rod Masters car club that has been going strong for 50 years now. At 9:30 am there was already a huge line up of vintage tin waiting to get into the park area. It took about 15 minutes to get parked and there was already about 400 to 500 cars. I left at 2:00 pm beacause I could not stand the heat any more and there had to be about 800 cars or more. Great day for great vintage iron. Check out the rides. Cheers.

Well jumpin' catfish.......that is one awesome show...if you can't find something you like there, there's no like in you.

First off...love the Plum Mist GTO......not to own but to see one. I think I only ever saw one in my years of car show clubbing. Did it have a different name for the Canadian Model?

Okay my eye candy watering began as you assembled all the different power plants available in the old iron. I think that 283 Power Pack was to your liking as it got 3 pics.

And talk about weird, I mean rare, the Pontiac Astre, even one with the camping tent option, and the Vega Panel.

I'm beginning to think a lot of rare cars have ended up in Maple Leaf Country.

I have to choose the 55 Pontiac in memory of my uncle. That lit Indian Head on the hood was his telltale marker I looked for as he would come home from his job as a Pontiac certified mechanic.

There's so much, too much to comment on everything. Car Shows of 500 to 800 are unheard of down here. When I lived in Carlisle PA it was only then and there could I walk for hours and even days to take in all the entries.

Great show Geo, great.........and cheers to you.

Lots of cars at this show to pick from and here are my picks:

The 53 Ford Woody which is a 54 Ford is superb and in great condition. Don't see many around. My Dad had a 52 and my uncle Bill had a 53. Uncle Bill was a Ford auto mechanic.

Next is the 50 Ford 4 door sedan. I always liked the shoebox Fords 49 to 51. Lots of style and the 49 Ford saved Ford from bankruptcy.

Of course the 57 Chevy Convertible the Icon is a beauty. Took my road test in my aunt's 57 and passed first time.

I have to add the 55 Pontiac also because my Father-In-Law had that car and he loved it, so do I. Huge change from the 54 model.

The 40 Buick is in great shape and my Dad owned one and told me it was one of his favorite cars.

Lastly the mint green and white two tone 56 Ford Fairlane is a Gem and again one of my all time favorite Fords. That year Ford went to 14 volts and added a lot of power options over the 55 model.

One more thing the 72 Chevy Impala is a 73 Chevy. My Dad had a 72 Chevy Wagon new which I bought from him when he was going to trade it in for a new car. The 73 had the bigger bumpers over the 72.

Great car show George and you captured a lot of unique cars. Incredible that they drew 800 cars. Must be a large field to accommodate all those cars.

Too bad the heat got to you and you had to leave early. I hope you were able to see most of the cars there.

This has been a very hot and humid summer here on Long Island this year also. Cheers my Canadian friend, Mario

Oops, I mistakenly said the 56 Ford went to 14 volts that year. I meant to say 12 volts from 6 volts for more power options.

I like the 53 Chevy Bel Air 2 door HT 2 tone George. A rare car indeed.

I also like the 50 Meteor Canadian model 4 door sedan. That must be a rare car in Canada and it looks in great condition.

Thanks for the added cars George. Cheers, Mario
