Mario's Oyster Bay Car Show June 3, 2025

1950 Milk Truck

Yesterday June 3, 2025, was our 2nd Oyster Bay Cruise Night and what a great party it was. We decided to make it a Family night, and I was joined by my wife Regina, son Joseph and grand kids Brandon and Samantha. We need to start them young, loving our treasured classic cars.

Main St in Oyster Bay was closed to traffic and filled with many classic cars. The street was jammed with spectators of all ages admiring the fine machines. The band was playing classic rock and roll, and the food vendors were selling anything you wanted.

This was a great day for me: Family, Cars, Food and Music. And the weather was fantastic. Enjoy the show, Mario.

My second Oyster Bay Cruise Night this year was a Family outing. I asked my wife, my son and two grand kids to come with me.

We all had a great time eating hot dogs and ice cream enjoying the music and looking at all the shiny classic cars.

Enjoy the show, Cheers, Mario.

Mario, what a swell touch of adding some of your family in the car show pics. Wonder what those little ones will say when they get old enough to drive, or will they be using the Jetson's type vehicle to get around.

As far as the cars, that Auburn Boatail is one I haven't seen for a long time. I always wondered if Buick copied that style for their Riviera?

That blue Chevelle was nice but I don't understand the rear spoiler, and the way they mounted it. To each their own.

The milk truck was awesome but I don't remember them being quite like that in youthful days sitting on the milkbox waiting for delivery so I could go eat my Frosted Flakes or Sugar Pops. Forget that healthy cereal like Special K.

Going back to my early years of making models the 1964 Plymouth Hemi was one I made. I recall the club called the RAMCHARGERS out of CA and they had their cars colored with red stripes on white bodies.

The 55 Chebbie looks awesome in it's period correct black and red.

An you can never go wrong shoehorning a 572 into a Nova. I recall a drag racer who had his car called "NOVACAINE".

Speaking of which I see my dentist. Trying to keep the ones I have now.

Nice work overall Mario and even you on the bandstand. I enjoyed the show, but missed the ice cream and hot dogs. Dang!!

Thanks Rob glad you liked the car show with Family. Just wanted to add a personal touch to this page.

That Milk Truck was awesome although quite a bit updated. But overall it started out as a 1950 milk truck. I remember the milk truck coming around too waiting for the milk for my Tony the Tiger Frosted Flakes. Great place to sit on the milk box also.

The Auburn boat tail does look like the Buick tried resembling it. Great condition for a 1936.

Not sure about the Chevelle rear spoiler. Crazy setup. Looks like he tried reinforcing it so it doesn't blow off. Loved the 55 Chevy paint job.

Thanks again for your picturesque stories. Love hearing them. Cheers, Mario.

Mario, that 53 chev pickup looked so much like mine I thought it was. That is a good looking truck. Is it all original like mine was? Thanks Brother BEAR

Hi Bear, the 53 Chevy Pickup looked great but not all original like yours. I couldn't see the engine but if you notice the dual exhausts I would imagine it had a modern Chevy V8 in it.

The interior was also nice but had new gauges and steering wheel which modernized it. All in all it is a beautiful Restomod. Cheers, Mario

Thank you Bear, they had a ball with all the excitement. And the Hot Dogs and Ice Cream helped also!
