Mario's Gold Coast Waterfront Car Show, Glen Cove, NY June 29, 2025

I was not able to attend the Annual Gold Coast Car Show in Glen Cove NY this year on Sunday June 29, but my brother John attended with his 1968 Corvette.

The car show on the Long Island Sound waterfront was sold out at capacity with 1,000 cars. A massive number of classic cars and spectators were at the all-day event.

Morgan Park has 40 acres of waterfront land for the public’s use donated by JP Morgan in 1932 in honor of his wife.

I asked John if he could take some pictures of the car show and I would post them on American Torque. So here they are.

Enjoy the show, Mario.

1 My Brother John next to his 1968 Corvette convertible.

2 My Brother John displaying his Corvette’s 327 V8 engine.

3 Large crowd attending the Morgan Park Car Show. Black Chevelle SS shown.

4 Beautiful summer day on Long Island’s North Shore. Old and newer classic cars.

5 Lots of tall trees for shade and a cool breeze off the water.

6 Looks like a 'Cuda between two Chevelle SS’s.

7 Nice Red 55 Chevy next to a black Corvette convertible.

8 Looks like a 67 Chevy Impala on the left of the photo.

9 The Silver 69 Camaro SS looks like the one I used to own. I always loved the 2 chrome hood vents and the hockey stick stripes.

10 Nice picture taken by John on a hill showing some of the cars below.

11 An old Woody and two nice Pontiac Firebird’s. I know the owner of the white Trans Am. He’s from Oyster Bay.

12 An old Chevy S10 pickup truck needing some TLC.

13 A clean 66 Chevy Impala convertible. Nice lines on this car. Last year before the "Coke" bottle Impalas.

14 Well, well look who showed up: the 1931 Ford Model A pickup truck from Garrett Auto, Bethpage LI. He’s at the Oyster Bay car show almost every week.

15 I guess my brother likes old rusted pickup trucks.

16 The Silver 69 Camaro SS, a 2nd Generation 70’s Camaro and a nice 55 Chevy 2 door sedan.

17 Looks like a row of old and newer Cadillacs in the background.

18 A 30’s red pickup truck and a Chevelle SS.

19 Chrome blown engine in a hot white Plymouth muscle car.

20 Red AMX, not many around and a black and white 55 Chevy sedan on the left. What's in the middle?

21 Beautiful "block long" 59 Cadillac Coupe Deville with the famous huge fins.

22 Nice white 62 Corvette convertible. I’ve seen this car at Oyster Bay car shows many times.

23 LI Cobra takes the center stage in this photo.

24 A pair of nice 71 Chevelle SS’s.

27 Rear view of the 66 White Chevy Impala convertible in the center.

28 Black Corvette next to a Red Chevy Monte Carlo.

29 Green Woody next to a red 67 Corvette convertible.

30 Great turnout of cars and spectators. They were smart enough to bring their own pup tents for shade.

31 Food trucks, vendors and lots of cool cars. A perfect day!

32 A red custom chopped 50 Mercury convertible center stage.

33 An original early 60's Chevy II Nova in showroom condition.

34 A row of Chevys all makes and years and if you look closely there’s a first year red and black 64 Pontiac GTO right of center.

35 My Brother John proudly standing next to his mint 68 Corvette. Thank you John for all the great pictures.

36 Beautiful T-Bird on the waterfront.

37 Looks like a row of 20’s classics.

38 A couple of 60’s Chevys by the shore.

39 John’s 68 Corvette.

I'll take that beautiful T-Bird on the waterfront as my pic. Now why am I choosing that car? Well see those tailights are burned into my memory.

See it was December when I traded my 65 Comet Caliente in at the Ford dealer for my 1969 442. And December brngs sleet and snow and ice. Short stoy long, 5 minutes from the dealer and I had to go down a hill to cross the Susquehanna River. And the lower pert of the road being lower and close to the river was a solid sheet of ice.

Well I saw those beautiful T-Bird Tailights ahead of me and nothing I could do. I wasn't going fast but the nose of my 442 got buried into the rear of that T-bird and those tailights weren't beautiful anymore.

It was my first accident and my grandfather told me BEFORE I BRING THAT CAR HOME to get insurance on it. A wise man in my life, all my life.

So, neither the T-Bird owner nor I was happy. Five minutes and I wrecked my first muscle car.

Anyway, enough about me. That looks like an awesome place to host a car show as the trees provide shelter from the searing sun.

Tell John thanks for filling in for you. Those are big shoes to fill. This site has to be my weekly car show since it's hawt hawt hawt here in the desert southwest, and no trees or water to be had for many miles.

Take care, God bless and CHEERS! In honor of Geo.

Thank you for your T-Bird Taillight story Rob and sad to hear what you went through wrecking your 69 Olds 442. Luckily you listened to your Grandpa and had insurance.

Yes the Morgan Park car show is one spectacular event held only once a year. Last years was awesome and happy I was able to make it.

There's a car there for everyone but it's a lot of walking to see them all on 40 acres. Food Vendors and many other vendors selling their items makes it a family oriented event.

Thanks John for all the pictures and I'll catch you there next year. Cheers, Mario
