There were many classic and antique cars on display, and our fall weather was much welcomed on Long Island.

I can't believe I'm posting before Rob! Gotta make this quick in case he is typing right now. That 49 Chevy pickup sure looks sharp with the wide whitewalls and the white "Chevrolet" lettering! I never saw a chopped 55 Chevy either. Does George Costanza still pretend to have a place in the Hamptons? :-)

Hi Brandon, the 49 Chevy pickup is a real beauty and the white lettering pops out,

Funny you mentioned does George Costanza pretend to own a house in the Hamptons. Actually Jason Alexander currently rents a home in the Hamptons. I guess he doesn't want to commit! Cheers, Mario

Hey Brandon........I see you butted IN LINE! NO BUTTS NO NUTS and NO COCONUTS!!!!!! That's the way they said it back in Mario'S Day!!!

It's all good, I was tied up yesterday with changing car and homeowners insurances. Not a pleasant way to spend a day trying to figure out the teleprompts some companies have.

I wish they had one that says press 999999 if you give up. I'd go right to that and save the end of my finger.

Now where was I????? Oh yes! I'm in an Impala mood lately. The 4 door and that red with white convertible and interior and it's an SS with a 327, one my favorite engines....I have to give them both the knod.

I used to design new car emblems or call outs when I was in art class in school. Of course THAT was NOT MY ASSIGNMENT!!!!!

But I was sooooo hooked on cars and always loved the leaping Impala in the circle. Hats off to that designer...I bow to his skill.

I was fortunate enough to love ART and got all A's in it so my grades while doodling were not in Jeopardy. Or maybe the Lord had a hand it that.

I wish I could've assembled a collection of ALL the emblems and call outs to be put in a glass case. They take up a lot less room then models. I still love models as well.

I visited a car museum in San Diego once and there was this awesome display, a lot of the pre-1960's cars. I spent a lot of time just looking at the intricate detail on some of the hodo ornaments. Works of ART!

The docent came by and wiped the drool off the cases and I was asked to leave as they closed 15 minutes earlier.

Okay okay I get it........eeeesh.....stop pushing.

To have a wall of emblems would be so cool.

I still love art by sadly age has diminished my skills and also my speed to run away from angry docents.

Love the show Mario......I see no Oldsmobiles were there, or did you just skip them??? J/K. ;-)

Thanks again...for the sharing and Brandon, you are always welcome to post before me. Just check with me before you do.

Enjoy life in whatever lane is open. Cheers (in honor of our member George who used that as his sign off)

We miss you George.........

Rob

Another great background story Rob very interesting. I see you're in an Impala mood which is good. It was probably the most successful model ever besides the Ford Model T.

Sorry the only Olds I saw was the Toronado and it was a beauty. I haven't seen one in a long time and this one showroom condition.

It was a long drive out East to the Hamptons from Oyster Bay but it was a nice day and a good show. Cheers, Mario
