Smith Haven Mall Car Show, Lake Grove, NY, May 17, 2026 Pt 1

2011 and 1993 Camaro Indy 500 Pace Cars

The Smith Haven Mall Car Show was held on Sunday May 17, 2026, in Lake Grove NY. I was able to go and catch all the classic, muscle and hot rods like I did last year.

This car show was held to raise funds for the Drive for Dana Foundation to benefit children in need on Long Island. Many cars showed up on a warm summer-like day.

I chose the 2011 Camaro and the 1993 Camaro Indy 500 Pace Cars for my cover as they sat next to each other for a rare photo. There was also a 1978 Corvette Indy 500 Pace Car at this show. A Total of 3 Indy 500 Pace Cars in one show!

A warm sunny day in Lake Grove NY at the Smith Haven Mall car Show. Lots of cars, cars, cars.

A great charity show for needy children as the classic cars and fans turned out to see the show.

I had a lot of favorites and there were many fine muscle cars. My kind of car show. Enjoy, Mario.

Good morningfrom the high mesa desert of AZ, as I sit here with coffee and lots of interest in this latest offering of yours.

The word YOWZA was used years before my time, and it was used in the movie: A Wondeful Life if you care to fact check me. But it does show up in the dictionary so I tryly havent become senile using it.

yowza interjection yow·za ˈyau̇-zə -ˌzä —used to express surprise or amazement.

I believe it's permissable to use that word to describe this thread.

That 52 Customized Chevy is one of the angriest looking cars I've seen in many years. It would've made a great star in the movie "Christine"!!!!!

I do love the chronological order you use as you can see the changes in the styles and looks of some models through the years.

Ive never seen an ugly Impala......

And look at that 64 Corvette Coupe. Oh how my heart skipped a beat as that is my numero uno possession in my auto lineage and still crying when I see the vision of it on the UHaul trailer being taken to Idaho for a complete resto.

Now I need a restoration of that car in my garage. But I can't play in that sandbox anymore.

It looks like a totally awesome time and show. I like how your car shows have exquisite names. Ours are like, Tucson Car Show. Smith Haven Mall sounds like one needs to wear a tie to attend.

As the temps tickle 100 degrees, the car show schedule slowly becomes a side note. Not a true schedule. I would need to travel north to the high country like Flagstaff to now attend a food car show. I mean one with cars like you tease our pallets with in your threads.

That's not a bad thought of going to Flagstaff, it's the destination that is the problem, it's the having to navigate through the gauntlet of traffic, temps and drivers to get there that is the challenge.

There are small church car shows still around but the viewing is limited to a few cars here and there. If you are going to go, GO BIG!!!!!!!!

Or so I've heard. Like this show.

I have an empty garage space just ideal for a car but just can't find that diamond in the rough yet.

I see what I want and then can't find the contents of the wallet to finish the want off to a HAVE.

So I'll keep coming back like a bad check to here, and enjoying the show, thanks to your many talents and skills and passion for this hobby.

Once more to reiterate, well done my friend, well well done.

The 52 angry Chevy is my choice. I'm afraid it would bite me with that grill if I didn't choose it.

Enjoy the weather, and keep them coming Mario.

Hi Rob, I'm still laughing at your post response with your "YOWZA" comment and I do remember it in the movie A Wonderful Life. And then your 52 "Angry" Chevy comment referencing the Christine movie was over the top! Although it does look angry with the eyes staring you down.

I know how much you love the 64 Corvette so I got that one and I even threw in a 65 Vette too. Lots of nice cars and even a couple of Military Trucks.

It was a nice weather day with food, vendors, music and lots of cool CARS. The car owners are anxious to get their cars on the road after our long cold snowy winter.

This was one of the best car shows and it was all for children's charities too.

Until the next car show, stay cool Rob and enjoy life. Best regards, Mario
