Oyster Bay Car Show June 9, 2026

1954 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop

My second Oyster Bay Car Show for this year was held on June 9, 2026, and it was filled with many classics, spectators and car owners.

Main St was closed off to traffic, and we had a mile long block party filled with many classic cars from all over Long Island NY. The shops were open along Main St with vendors, food, drinks and fine restaurants.

We had another hot band playing our favorite oldies and the whole town was rocking.

I chose the beautiful two tone 1954 Chevy Bel Air 2 door hardtop for my cover to this page. I have seen this car at many other car shows besides Oyster Bay.

I can hear Dinah Shore singing “See the USA in your Chevrolet” in her commercials.

Enjoy the show! Mario.

Another great Oyster Bay Cruise Night with warm weather. Lots of people strolling down Main Street looking at all the classic cars.

Again we had a hot band and food and vendors. I like seeing all ages of spectators admiring the cars. Enjoy the show. Mario.

Well what do we have here?????? I see a lot of $ signs....this must be where the rich and famous oe infamous live. I am totally stoked to see a 1965 442. I don't see many of them and with their rather larger body style, they were quite as popular as they became especially in 1968 when the new body style and of course Hurst got into the mix building their specialty cars which pumped more adrenalin into the car junkies blood.

Thanks for the 72 Olds 442. That green and yellow 52 Chevy with that paint scheme looks right at home with it. Im not sure if that combination would work on other cars. The dimensions has a lot to do with it.

Glad to hear you're seeing the youth picking up the habit or hobby. I watched some vehicles that could be bought at Mecam for less than $10K. They may not be the popular ones. But these 10K cars have a lot of worth in their builds.

So there is a car out there for everyone.

Enjoyed this thread, keep them coming. Temps over 100 here, so my car shows are on my laptop. :-)

Oh boy, 100 degrees already Rob? It's only mid June. How hot does it get in August? But I hear it's low humidity in AZ where here on Long Island surrounded by water it's very humid so the Dew Point is very high over 70 and uncomfortable.

Glad you liked the car show Rob. Lots of really nice cars are coming out now and joined by a wide range of ages from grandchild to grandpa!

My wife likes to stroll with me on Main St to see the cars too. I've had my son and grandson here too looking at all the cars.

Oyster Bay is a very quaint New England style hamlet and yes there is a lot of money here with huge mansions on the North Shore over 10,000 sq ft right on the water. This area is called the Gold Coast known for its grand estates, waterfront mansions, and ties to America’s Gilded Age.

The North Shore of Long island is known for its winding coastline, wooded hills, harbors, elegant neighborhoods, and strong maritime heritage.

This is why we moved here when we down sized back in 2020 just before Covid hit. We were lucky to sell our Colonial home out East and buy a nice Condo in Oyster Bay just 1/2 mile from the beach. Sometimes the stars align just right thanks to our Lord.

Take care Rob and keep cool. The summer is still ahead and I'll try and keep you occupied with my car shows. Best Regards, Mario

I'd text, HOW COOL!!! but its not. Yes it is a very dry climate, but somedays it's like putting your face close to an open oven.

We call it a DRY HEAT.

Now it is said, that people have been known to spontaneouly burst into flames.......

But we all know who live here, they were DRY FLAMES.

If California falls off and drifts out to sea, I'm pretty close to having beachfront property.

I have the sandy beach already called desert, I just need the water to make it complete. :-)

Yes I've heard it's a dry heat, but so is my oven. I think hot is hot even if it's dry.

So beachfront property is good for you if the Big One hits LA LA Land. But then you won't have dry heat, you'll have a lot of humidity like me!

Looking good Mario! I too dig the '65 442. The grille looks like it means business! Nice to see Dinah Shore inviting us to see the USA in our Chevrolet. We named our cat after her!

Hi Brandon glad to hear from you. Hope all is well with you and you're enjoying the Spring, and in a few days Summer. Good weather to go for a ride in your beautiful 66 GTO.

So you named your cat after Dinah Shore. That's pretty cool. You have to take her for a ride in your GTO and sing the song "See the USA in your GTO"! Take care Brandon and enjoy my car shows. Mario
