I went to the Annual Sayville Summer Fest Car Show on Sunday August 9, 2026. The car show was held on Main St in the quaint hamlet of Sayville on Long Island’s South shore. Main St was closed to traffic, and the turnout was again tremendous like in all the years past.
There were many classic, hot rods and muscle cars to see and we had various food and street vendors. A Carnival was held on the first 2 days, and the car show was held on the 3rd day. There was a band playing ‘Oldies but Goodies’ and the town was Rockin’. It was a mile long block party on Main St in lovely Sayville the sister town to Oyster Bay.
John Ellis Roosevelt (1853–1939) from Sayville was the first cousin of President Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919) who was from Oyster Bay where I live. John Ellis owned the Meadowcroft Estate on Middle Road in Sayville, NY. President Roosevelt would visit Meadowcroft and his cousin John during his summer vacations from the White House. The 26-mile trip from Oyster Bay to Sayville would take 2 days by horseback. See the videos I posted on their homes.
The weather was just right with low humidity, and everyone had a great time. I look forward to this annual car show every year. It was at this car show back in 2009 where I purchased my 1967 Chevy Impala from a car show entrant.
I chose the 1968 Dodge Charger Customized as my cover to this page because it is so radically different with a wild look and huge bulging engine. None other like this.
Here are the highlights of the Sayville Summer Fest Car Show 2026. Enjoy, Mario.

The yearly car show at the Sayville Summer Fest is a spectacular 3 day event. There is a full blown professional Carnival for young and old.
On the 3rd day they close off Main St and host a full day car show. Many classics, hot rods, antiques are displayed.
I presented this car show in a way that you feel like you're walking down Main St looking at all the cars. Some pictures have 2 or 3 cars shown just like you see them while walking. Enjoy, Mario.
