4th Annual DOVER DRAG STRIP NOSTALGIA DRAGS

Hold on to your fuzzy dice…The Dover ‘Guys” are at it again. After two successful years, running their Nostalgia Drags at Island Dragway, the guys decided to get back to their home State-New York. After Dino and the gang contacted Howie Commander, the fix was in.

The date: August 11-12 at their neighbor to the north, from the old days, Lebanon Valley Dragway. Seems Back in the ‘Dover Days’ (1961-1976), if Dover rained out, there would be a convoy north on Rt.22, if Lebanon was dry. And this year, the event is being expanded with the proven two day format, to include a Car Show & Swap Meet. To sweeten the party, NETO will run a Saturday & Sunday point’s race along with the wild & wholly EAST COAST GASSERS attending.

Their races feature the “Dover Eliminators, which have worked out so well in the past. “Dover New’ for anything after 1976 (the year the track closed), and pre’76 for Dover Vintage’. Add to that ,a crowd pleasing’ Dover 4-Speed’ eliminator and “Dover Comp.” is full of altereds, gassers and rails, plus anything supercharged. Returning as Title sponsor again this year is M&M Speed & Custom. Founder Rich Marchese supported Dover racers back when, and still does, backing 6 cars this year, from his current Florida location. Plenty of original Dover Race cars always show to display or Race, and this year will be no exception.
