57 Heaven

We drive 'em.

'57 150 Handyman, 3 speed Overdrive '57 210 Handyman, Rochester Fuel Injection, 3 speed Overdrive, 550,000 miles.

If you have questions e mail: tom@57chevys.com

Yes, it really is fuel injected.

One of my daughters with her rabbit and her then ride, a 210 Del Ray, with my wife's then ride, a Bel Air hardtop. ( about 10 years ago)

My 57 ragtop, as used by "Simon and Simon". Yes, that's Rick (Gerald McRainey, and it wasn't loaded, I hope) about 1981.

And this is A.J.(Jameson Parker) and me (before gray hair) at Universal Studios, between shots. My buddy Mickey Jones(Tool Time) arranged the meeting and took the photos.

My racecar at Saugus Speedway(1986) at speed. I was not the best driver, But Kevin Shannon took it to the track while I was out fishing, and set the track record with Jim Gardella driving, and took 2nd in the Street Stock Main Event.

This is what happens when the guy coming up the straight doesn't look ahead for cars stopped for a wreck.

He pushed my car into the car in front of mine.

That's racing.

My baby! We ran the Winternationals in '71 and '72 before making it back into a streeter.

Oops, where did that '55 come from. It has all the standard equipment: Chrome tube axle, 'glass nose, box tube snout. Drivetrain will have 301 with aluminum rods, Jackson Injection, Hooker Fenderwell headers, McCloud adjustable Pressure plate, Liberty crashbox Chrysler 4 speed. It has a Pontiac rearend with 5:38's, I also have 5:86's and 6:17's. After that gets boring I have a 6:71 to spice things up. I don't know if it'll be (sanctioning body) legal but we'll find out (maybe).

This is my recently completed racecar, "The Man", a Junior Stock tribute car, with some of the parts from the car we ran in 1969 at the Winterntionals. I was able to finish the cosmetics on the early morning of July 4th, then we towed it from Granada Hills to Pennsylvania for the York Muscle Car Reunion. The Drags that weekend were uneventful as the mechanicals weren't complete, no tach, no line lock, no time to adjust things, but it did make a wounded pass. I hope to have the finishing touches taken car of shortly and then, back to the strip.

This is the fake LAPD style door emblem.

Thanks for this amazing trip back with some of your time machines. Have always loved the 57 Chevrolet and that might explain why I had one from 1984 to 2007 that I restored original. What a special prize that fuelie is, man do I ever envy you for that one. Cheers.

That post has been up for a long time. I traded the 55 for a 57 that I sold 35 years ago. Got it back. Now I'm back to all 57's except for the 62 Vette. Thanks
