Oyster Bay Car Show September 9, 2025

1965 Chevy Malibu HT

Our weekly Oyster Bay Cruise Night Car Show was held Tuesday September 9, 2025 and we had very nice weather with low humidity as we get closer to Fall.

There was a hot band playing our oldies all night and we had a lot of food, assorted vendors and of course many classic cars.

Again, we had some exotic and classic cars that showed up such as a 1948 Chrysler Town and Country Woody, a 1963 Corvette Split Window Coupe, a 1981 DeLorean, a 2023 Corvette Z06 Indy 500 Pace Car, a 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, a 2025 McLaren GTS and even a Cadillac Presidential Limo just to name a few.

Let’s hope the weather stays fall-like for the rest of the car season.

Enjoy the show! Mario.

Another great night at the Oyster Bay Cruise show. Many exotic cars showed up including the Presidential Limo! That was a sight to see.

Fall is very much welcomed in our little town and the fans showed up just to walk around and take in the cars.

See you next week, Mario

Well here I am and there you are with all these beautiful rides.

I'll be short and name my winner:

1948 Chrysler Town and Country Woody

I have never ever saw one like that. And if I did I'll claim a senior moment as my excuse.

Now you hit some nerves with some of the pics. Recently, I was looking for an inexpensive project car. Lord have mercy, I found an Opel GT, also called the poor man's Corvette.

I was pumped to go see the car and the price was right.....$1000. But it didn't take long for the bloom to fall from the rose. The car was an empty shell. But there were parts scattered from Oyster Bay to Tucson AZ. I was told the car comes with "SOME" parts. The other parts needed would have to be purchased later.

Now can you imagine the sweat equity and money one could put into the car and come to a point where the seller has the part, and wants top dollar for it. The market for Opel's at best is just above corpse temperature,

I kept imagining this Opel just as you have pictured here. I him'ed and hee'hawd about buying it. I so needed a project. The initial buy in was easy, but like Time Shares I saw this seller almost like a scam artist.

He even gave me brochures to take home, you know parts catalog and books. I had that still small voice in my ear that said it's a trap. Once the feelings eased and the critical thinking side of my brain kicked in, I called him and told him I was returning his media and was no longer interested.

I returned the next day to an unaswered door bell but with his cars in the driveway. It remined me of those Time Share Sales where BOTH parties need to be present. If your spouse is not available, then you're treated like navel lint. Funny how that is. They want you and the spouse to sign the dotted line there and then. So being without the loved one does work in one's favor one in awhile.

The Olds are always appreciated Mario. The Camaro and the GTO in similar hues would always be welcomed in my garage.

I'm glad the weather is beginning to turn even here in the desert southwest. This day feels like a day in PA where the skies are gray, and there's showers all around. A gray day is a good thing in a land of 300 days of sun. I think it's 330 now.

Well done Mario.......well done. Another notch in the gunbelt. Another story told. Rock on youngster, even at your age. :-)

Well Rob we all continue to learn every day and I posted a video for you on an original 1948 Chrysler Town and Country Woody convertible. It was an amazing car as long as a boat and just beautiful.

The Opel GT was a pleasant surprise at the show and a nice looking sports car. It reminded me of the Jaguar XKE back in the late 60's.

I applaud you for not giving into your emotions in buying the Opel "parts car". That would have been a bad choice. Too many dishonest people around today.

The Maga Limo was a surprise and much welcomed here in my town. Our Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino is Republican and a huge Trump supporter so there you are. His office is right on Main Street in Oyster Bay where the Cruise Night car show is held. A big car guy. I'm very fortunate to live in Oyster Bay.

And finally, I too always liked Camaros and GTO's at car shows and I look to photograph them. They are much loved in all the car shows on Long Island and very popular.

Thank you Rob for all your comments and back stories. They're much appreciated and very entertaining. You always have very good feedback.

We still have a few car shows left to go this season and I will be at all of them. I'm taking over for George God Bless him who I named the King of Car Shows last year. Cheers, Mario
