Dave's 67 GTO

The Begining

Almost Done

The Vacuum PB didn't work out. Changed it over to hydro boost. The 4 corner disc brakes work great now.

Hey Dave, greart looking ride. I love the color combo of your car. Can you tell me what wheels you have on it? I can't recognize them. What size tires? Any mods to the drive train?

Classic Torq Thrust II if I remember right. The pictures I've found on line make the spokes appear more rounded and curved than they are. Pictures of torq thrust D are very close to what my wheels look like. They are 17x8 0 offset, rear tires 255 50 front are 245 45. Engine 69 Pont 400 bored and stroked to 462, Comp Cams XE 268, EDL 87CC alum heads, Doug's Headers. 5 Sp TKO. Sequential EFI. RWHP is 375 at 4800 and RWTQ 380 at 1500 peaking at 435 at 3500.

Those are some nice numbers indeed.....my little OHC6 won't ever hit those. Thanks for the wheel dimensions, I have been told I can't use any wheel wider than 7 inches and a tire of 235 width. Your combo fills the wheelwells nicely and the classic look just accents the whole car. Thanks for the info.......and to have a TKO 5 speed, that is just gravy on yer tatters as they say....... :-)

Be careful. the front end has 2" dropped spindles and an additional 1' drop at the spring. The springs are very stiff as is the oversized sway bar. If the wheels are turned tight the tires will rub if I hit a good sized bump. The rears required the inner wheel well lip to be rolled. The rear end had to be narrowed 1" on each side due to the 0 offset. My 15x7 Rally II's have a 1 inch offset. I believe that you can have these wheel made with an offset. Hope this helps.

Would the 17 x 8 zero offset fit a 66 Pontiac Catalina?
