Bill's 54 convertable

MissImpossible.....(mission impossible ) I was told by a number of people that I was crazy, it couldn't be done......Well ????

cuttin out the rust ,,,as much as possible anyway

making new parts for the top frame....the top piece is the old part I'am replacing

this is the top frame part that I'am repairing with new home-made parts

Just in case I haven't said this before.. the reason thet people said this project couldn't be done.....well, I started with the old convertable shown in the pic's, and a 2 door sedan body that was in pretty good shape. I said I was going to merge the two togather, thats when they said "it cant be done " well guess what !!!!!! it can be done if you really want to have a convertable..lol all the dimensions are the SAME as a two door hard top. and all the basic body is the same dimensions as a two door post body ,except the trunk lid and the area just in front of the trunk lid. that's where the top is stored in the down position...the top well....that part I will have to fabricate from new metal.I don't have a rear seat yet,,,that may be a little tricky,,but I'll think of something as I go along.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. My mom passed away last year and even though she was 94 it's been hard to take. The work you've done is A-1. Keep it up!

Thank's torinoluvr.....I'am trying to do the best that I possibly can, without the high dollar price tag. I'am "old school" and doing it the old school way. lol By the way, I'am building a " driver" not a show car, just trying to make it look good also. Thanks again for the good comments guys. Bill
