The Great White Mope '66 Coronet

Sponsored by Dudley's Racing Transmissions - Las Vegas

Best ever pass at home track (LVMS) - 10.58 @ 125 mph

Staging lanes before final at '07 California Hot Rod reunion.

Ink in Muscle Car Review.

My other '66 - My Dad bought this car in 1976 for 125 dollars. He restored it in the late 70's - early 80's and has been virtually unchanged since.

As found in Dad's garage under 2 car covers and moving blankets in Sept '09 2 days after he passed away. It had been sitting unmoved for 10-12 years.

In my garage going thru the brakes - those BFG's were put on the car in 1981 and still had 70% of the tread. The receipt was in the glove box along with a speeding ticket (Dad had a heavy foot)The top is down and had been for 20 years, needless to say its junk. It is still operational though.

Dad rebuilt the engine when he restored the car. Originally he put a MP purple cam, Edelbrock torquer, 780 holley and headers. Trans was done buy a guy named Steve Monk - it barks a nasty 2nd. In about 1986 we (I helped) put a milder cam, stock intake and AVS carb on it. After I brought it home (23 years later)I put a electronic ignition conversion on it, new carb, plugwires and fuel pump. It started right up with out a lick of smoke and it still runs beautifully.

0nly 134 '66 Coronet 440 convertibles were built with the 383 4-bbl automatic drive train. This car is highly optioned with power brakes and steering, 323 limited slip diff, sport wood grain steering wheel, power windows, tinted glass, retractible seat belts front and rear, light package, bumper guards and more.

This car originally had a bench seat but dad wanted buckets so he put them in when he had the interior done. He alwyas told me that he wished to put the interior back to stock so I am in the process of doing that now. Notice that the car has 2 radios? I will be correcting that too. I am also going to put the missing items back on the car that he removed over 30 years ago.
