Help identify this car

This is a picture taken around 1930 in Montgomery County VA. My long deceased siblings are shown in the car, which was located in the driveway of our home place.

My late grand father Gilbert S. Waters, from New Bern North Carolina had a business relation with the legionary Barney Oldfield. In fact he owned Barney Oldfield's Stanley Steamer that he drove and won in Chicago.

Could this be one of those gasoline cars driven by Barney Oldfield or could you identify from the picture the make and year? It appears to have a Mercedes hood ornament or radiator cap emblem.

I appreciate any help you can give me,

Thanks,

Jack Waters
