George's Canadian 74 Chev Caprice Estate wagon

My dad bought this 1974 Chevrolet Caprice Estate wagon in May 1974. The wagon has always been in the family and as of May 2017 the car has just over 53,000 miles. The 74 was only used for family vacations because my dad always had another car for regular duties. This 74 is powered by the 400 V-8 four barrel and has all the usual options and accessories and then some. My dad Anthony (1927-1993) passed away July 1993 and left me the car because he always knew how much the car meant to me. When my dad passed away the car had 36,000 miles and i have since put on 53,000 miles going to car shows and cruse nights. I put on 300 to 1,000 miles a year on the car depending on my mood. The car is a real dream cloud to drive and i have only done the usual wear items on the car. I did some detail work in the engine bay in 1995. I show this car in memory of my dad. Cheers. George

Great car & thanks for sharing some of its history. I once owned the Chevelle version ..same year and color combination with the woody look.

I love those huge wagons, almost enough room to hold square dances on Saturday night. Great color combo. I had a 73 Malibu Estate Wagon in 74...almost the same color. I love the saddle interior

What a beautiful 74 Caprice wagon you have and such a great tribute to your Dad that you keep it in good condition. My Dad also owned a 72 Chevy wagon which I purchased from him in 1979. We both bought new 1979 Chevettes that year because of the oil embargo and hi gas prices. I later sold back the 72 wagon back to my Dad when prices came down! My other pages show all these cars. Regards, Mario

Thanks Mario, I know you can connect with this because of your past and your dad's Chevy wagons. Cheers.
