Vintage car odds and ends from some of my oldies. I got these vanity plates for my dad for Christmas of 1986. These were for my dads 74 Chev Caprice Estate wagon that he bought new. My dad died July 16, 1993 and left me this wonderful automobile.

It is a 1973 Chev wagon not a 74 like my baby but close enough.

The dealer that sold my dad the 74 Chev Caprice Estate wagon new in May 1974.

The 400 V-8 four barrel Chev that is in the 74 Chev Caprice Estate wagon. The only engine bigger and more powerful that year was the 454 V-8 and it was an extra cost option.

Copies of all the original paperwork that came with the 74 Chev originally. I keep the original copies in a safe place.

When these Johnny Lightening 73 Chev Caprice wagons came out about ten years ago, I bought six of them.

To this day I do not know what this marking on my 74 Chev wagon signifies. It is a factory marking that says something to a line worker to do. If anyone out there knows what this means, could you please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it.

The mileage on my 74 Chev wagon is now just over 56,000 miles. As of February 2022.

I got these vanity plates back in 1982 and it has now been on three different vintage cars. 1956 Chev 210 sedan, 1957 Chev Bel Air hardtop and now on my 1957 Pontiac Pathfinder Deluxe sedan. Years ago someone offered me $1,000 to transfer these plates over to them legally. I doubt I would take ten times that amount for these plates. They will be with me until I die.

I remember back in the 1980's you could find exterior sun visors for 55 56 57 Chevy's on a regular basis for about $150. In 1997 I found a visor for my 57 Pontiac in Carlisle for $600 U.S. and that was a super good deal from a guy from California. Now good luck finding one.

I bought it from him and loved it. Nothing like carrying 4 x 8 plywood fit snugly in the back.
