The war stopped production of American cars in Feb 1942. Only a few models were built that year. New cars finally came out for the 1946 model year with few changes from 1942. After retooling the newer 1949 models that came out were much redesigned and the V8 engine took over. Fins grew by the year and many mechanical improvements were made.

It was a difficult decade for the World but ended on a high note with much anticipation for the Fabulous Fifties to come! Mario

With the in line eights there is more to look at. Six and eight in a row will go, some folks say they are slow, I say so.... and what is the rush anyway. Cheers.
