Another fine posting by Mario. I always loved the hooked tailights on this year. Maybe this one is tucked away sleeping somewhere. At least I'd rather believe that than a fate that has befallen some of these monumental history pieces.

Thanks Rob, your comments are always enjoyable. The hooked tail lights were a unique feature now that the fin era is gone. I too would like to believe this car is sitting in a cozy museum sipping 10W30 oil martinis! No news is good news. Cheers, Mario

Always one of Pontiac's better designs and did very well at the drags strips and the NasCar ovals. That 62 Pontiac Promo model brings back memories of all the many Pontiac promo models I had from around 1977 to about 1989. I had 1960, 1961, 1962 and 1964 Pontiac promo models in rag top and hardtop form. Like an idiot I sold all of them at once to a collector of them. I might have been able to pad my retirement fund had I kept them until now. Cheers.

I guess here in NY the promo cars were not a big hit, I don't remember ever getting one or seeing one at a dealer. I used to go to all the dealers and get free car booklets when new models were out starting as a child. I would pour over them to learn the latest on each year and make. I too ended up selling my collection of over 1,000 original sales brochures spanning several decades for a good price. But I kept a lot of my favorites. Cheers, Mario

Mario, like you I also collected dealer brochures. I started collecting around 1977 but by 2005 I had sold most of my collection except for my 1957 Pontiac and 1974 Chev Caprice stuff. I still have some GM, Ford, Mopar and American Motors brochures but not much. As a kid I use to cut up the dealer brochures that my dad on occasion brought home, not knowing how special they were going to be. I started collecting as a very young adult and there was no cutting, I can tell you that. Cheers.

I used to cut the cars out too George but I always made sure I had 2 copies. One to cut and one to save and read. They were so easy to get from the dealers. At the end of the model year they would throw out the last years model booklets and I was there to snatch them up! I kept all the booklets of the cars I owned and then some. Cheers, Mario

Mario, I lied. I still have two Pontiac promo models still in my possession. I have that 1962 Bonneville rag top and I have a 1960 Bonneville rag top. Thanks for your colorized efforts. Cheers.
