As a typical Baby Boomer hitting my teens in the Sixties, it was a time of graduating high school, getting a job and of course getting a car!

We seemed to have grown up very quickly in the Sixties, and my love of cars grew with me.

After owning my first car a 1959 Pontiac Catalina convertible I was fortunate to afford a brand new 1969 Camaro SS350 for my second car!

In the Sixties all the car brands grew in styling, size, colors, options and engine size all geared for the Baby Boomers.

Here is a look back at many of the Sixty’s cars I was lucky to see and photograph from many years of going to car shows. Enjoy! Mario.

No doubt many wonderful cars came out in the 1960's from various auto makers. Just an endless stream of great cars. If I could only have one car from this collection, it would have to be the original 1963 Vette split window. Cheers.

Agreed George, the best cars were in the 60's and the split window Corvette always caught my eye too.

The 65 Malibu Covertible shown was for sale and I came very close to buying it. He just wanted a little too much money and wouldn't bargain, so I passed it up.

The 69 Yenko Camaro was a real beauty! I stayed to hear him start it up and it just roared with horsepower! Only one I ever saw at a show.

Cheers! Mario

Personally I still think that the 1950's especially the mid to late 1950's is the best time for classic cars. As far as class, style and pizzazz. The 1960's come a close second to me. Cheers.

I'm in agreement with you George that the mid to late 1950's is the best time for classic cars. As far as class, style and pizzazz. My first car was a 59 Pontiac and all my friends had 50's cars in and after high school. I love seeing the 50's cars at the shows.

The 60's cars were different in that they were muscular and powerful as well as lighter. I used to go to the drag strip every Sunday and enjoyed all the screaming horsepower cars off the line. They just got faster and faster every year.

It's a hard choice between the two decades for different reasons. But I really love seeing both 50's and 60's cars at the shows! Cheers! Mario
