Oyster Bay Car Show June 2, 2026

1972 Olds 442 W30

My first Oyster Bay Car Show for the year was held on June 2, 2026, and it was filled with many classics, spectators and car owners.

Main St was closed off to traffic, and we had a mile long block party filled with many classic cars from all over Long Island NY. The shops were open along Main St with vendors, food, drinks and fine restaurants.

We had a hot country band called Road Kill Country Outlaws playing our favorite oldies and the whole town was rocking.

I would like to dedicate the first of many Oyster Bay Cruise Night pages to our good American Torque friend Rob, also known as AZMuscle. Rob has been a loyal fan of AT and all my Pages. So, here’s to you Rob for always being there for me and all the AT community.

I chose the 1972 Olds 442 W30 as my cover for this page knowing how much Rob likes the Olds 442.

The Oyster Bay Cruise Night car shows are full in gear for 2026 and there was a great crowd at this show. I enjoyed strolling around on Main St looking at all the classics. Enjoy the show. Mario

My thoughts come to all the expressed feelings and emotions we were entertained with on of all shows, BATMAN, the original Batman on TV.

BAM, POW, WHAM, ZOINK..as I look at all the specialty vehicles such as a GS, W-30, Cameo,Cobra, Z28, Cuda....not your typical choice from a pallet of collector cars. One can only imagine the value of some of these rides.

The value to me is the enjoyment of seeing these rides of MY PAST, taking me for a ride back to happier times, rumbling big blocks thumping the ground as you stand close enough. The popping of a chambered exhaust courtesy of a Z/28. hearing a DZ302 scream or a Boss 302 yelling at the high rpm rafters ..yessiree...a delight to the eyes, ears and smells of a day gone by. Thank you for the recognition of the Olds 442 W-30 which the photo is part of me screen choices to fool myself into thinking I own one. Close as I can get.

Thanks again for the delightful eye candy. That 64 Corvette is in a tie with the Olds whihc is in a tie with the Z/28 which is in a tie......

you get my drift as we used to say and now is lost on a generation that looks at me and wonders if my mental elevator goes to the top floor anymore.

Have a blessed and pleasant day, your job of car show host is one of envy, but also of appreciation of your love of the hobby.

Ah yes Rob, a stroll down Main St in Oyster Bay on a Tuesday summer evening is a stroll down memory lane.

All the cars you and I grew up with can be found here and in Immaculate condition. You can't put a dollar value to that. Other car shows are in parking lots with no pizazz, very plain.

If you look at the spectators you'll see a variety of ages from little children, teens, young couples, mid age and older.

I see more and more younger people each year. They have an interest and are curious which in my view is the flame that will grow brighter each year.

So sit back with your cup of coffee Rob, and get entertained each week with my car shows. Mario

I truly enjoyed the nostalgic video of the GTO beak beating......took me back to my first viewing with I'm sure the look of what are they doing to that beautiful GTO. Sadly. like our bodies. those Endura bumpers deteriorate with time.
