I went to the Oyster Bay Car Show on September 8, 2026 with my brother John in his showroom condition 1968 Corvette Convertible. Again, the show was packed with cars and people, and we had to take the Vette to a side parking lot off Main St.
We had a great time strolling down Main Street looking at all the classic cars and listening to the Rock Band playing those Oldies but Goodies. Vendors lined the street and the shops and restaurants were all open for us. Old timers, baby boomers, young parents with children and teens all showed up for the car show on a pleasant September day.
This was the last scheduled Tuesday night Oyster Bay Car Show for the season, so we made the best of it. There was supposed to be one more finale car show the following weekend, but it got cancelled due to a rainstorm.
There was a beautiful 1972 Hurst Olds 442 at the show, and I took pictures for Rob. But my pick for the Cover car is the incredibly fully customized 1950 Dodge. It looks like a 50’s Bathtub Mercury not a Dodge. Beautiful Deep Green paint with white cove, Mercury grill, French Headlights, Chopped, French Taillights and more. Lots of work went into this car and it’s my pick for Cover.
Enjoy the show, Mario

What a great year 2026 in Oyster Bay Car Shows. I look forward to more car shows with my brother John and his fabulous 1968 Corvette Convertible.
When I was in the Marines in 1968 I ordered a new 1968 Corvette from GM in Detroit. But I cancelled the order and ended up buying a 1969 Camaro SS350 instead.
Enjoy the show, Mario
