My first car ...'64 Goat, 389, 3 deuces, 4 speed. My dad co-signed for me and I paid $500 down. Payments were $90.00 month for 36 months. Insurance was $520.00 per year for a 17 year old boy. Gasoline was 24 cents a gallon for Sunoco 260. Those were the days.

I had a '65 as my first car and it seems we had the same engine options at a cost of $295.00. My father co-signed for me and my payments were $99.00 per month for 36 months. I held the B/S record at Island Dragway in Hackettstown N.J. for 6 months with that car. I didn't get a chance to sell mine my brother totaled it while I was away at jump school ( Ft. Bragg N.C. ) and yes I remember the gas prices, you could cruise all night on $2.00. And yes those were the days my friend.
