My buddy Pete V's 1957 Chev Bel Air two door coupe.

Pete's long restoration of his 57 Chev.

A good buddy of mine Pete V. has owned his 1957 Chev Bel Air coupe for about forty years now. The 57 Chev was always his automotive passion and he went head first into his very in depth restoration of this automotive icon. The car had all the usual rust in all the usual places. Pete did a very extensive body rebuilding with proper metal panels. Pete being a class A mechanical millwright had few issues welding the body together. Today it is impossible to tell where the welds are anywhere. Pete is an absolute perfectionist in anything he does, including the required body work. Unfortunately life gets in the way sometimes when you have a big goal. Raising family, work and other interests slowed down the restoration. Today the car is still not completed but the body work is 90% done. Now that Pete is fully retired, he finally has time to finish the 57. Pete also owns a beautiful 1957 Chev Bel Air two door hardtop that is on the road and Pete drives on occasion. Come on Pete finish that classic before you are too old to do so. Cheers.

June 1987 when I first met my buddy Pete and his 57 Chev. He had just finished the rolling chassis.

The floor was mostly redone including the trunk area. Flawless work everywhere.

The completely restored rolling chassis.

Mario, I will up update with pictures of up to date work and progress on the restoration. The entire floor top and bottom is painted Tropical Turquoise and the fire wall is painted the body color as well. The body is down on the frame and fully bolted down. The only body work left to do is to finish the full quarter panel on the one side. Once that is done Pete will tackle some minor body work on the front fenders.
