The Camaro received a complete redesign and new platform in 2009 for the 2010 model year and the Fifth Generation. Based on the 2006 Camaro Concept, production of the fifth-generation Camaro was approved on August 10, 2006.
The Oshawa Car Assembly plant in the city of Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, began producing the new 2010 Camaro which went on sale March 16, 2009, in LS, LT, and SS trim levels.
The new body used styling cues from the 1969 Camaro, including grille, roof styling, quarter windows, and side trim. Unlike the 1969 model and the 2006 concept, the production model's quarter windows were fixed and hid a thick B-pillar behind the glass.
The Camaro was chosen to be the Indy 500 Pace car for the years 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2014. On April 1, 2010, the Camaro was named the World Car Design of the Year at the World Car of the Year Awards. The 2012 model year marked the 45th anniversary of the Camaro, and this was commemorated with a special edition model.
The 2014 Camaro was unveiled at the 2013 New York Auto Show, with a refreshed body style and the return of a Z/28 model. The Z/28 model featured a high-performance 7.0 L LS7 V8 engine that produced 505 hp. The 2016 Camaro was chosen to be Motor Trend’s Car of the Year.
This is my Tribute to the 5th Generation Camaro. Enjoy, Mario

I remember when the 2006 Camaro Concept car came out. I was thrilled that the Camaro was coming back and especially that the 69 Camaro was the basis for the new Camaro. I even bought a scale model of the 2006 Camaro Concept.
The 5th Generation Camaro had many special cars such as 4 Indy 500 Pace Cars, a Motor Trend Car of the Year, a 45th Anniversary Edition, A Neiman Marcus Special Edition which sold out in 3 minutes, and even a Hot Wheels Special Edition.
Enjoy the Camaro 5th Generation portfolio. Mario.
