Saturday July 30, 2022.

I took in the annual Cookstown Steam Era and Car show event. I took my 1957 Pontiac and my younger brother Mike took his 1964 Ford Econoline. We enjoyed a sunny day of good folks, good old cars and good old farm equipment. Check out the rides. Cheers.

Another nice car show George and very interesting to see all the farm equipment. I see there's a lot of interest in farming.

The 56 and 57 Canadian "Meteor" Fords are unique and rare to see at least for me. I usually don't see them here and they appear to be in very good condition. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Cheers, Mario

NOW THAT!!!! Is my kind of Car Show. I call that a POWER SHOW. Everything a motorhead or gearhead could ask for. Cars, trucks, station wagons, vans.steam engines, steam tractors, it's an all you eat eye candyfest.

I miss the steam engines and tractors. I grew up in Central PA and they had an event called Grangers or Graingers Day at a local amusement park.

My grandfather, God bless him, would always take me and I'd ended up with being able to choose a miniature steam engine or tractor I think made my Leslie?? I could be wrong...I do recall my favorite was a steam roller.

The food tasted better as we toured the immense displays and they had a steam powered lumber mill that men worked. The engines would "putt putt putt" as they performed their task. I watched the huge long belts whirling and twisting as they ran back and forth between the pulleys.

And there was always someone clearing the throat of their Steam tractor with a shrill whistle.

Oh, to relive that time with my Grandfather again.

Excellent post George. Almost as good as Mario would do. There's still hope for us...maybe someday.....we can achieve that height!!

I agree Rob this was some great event and I like the old farmer in the straw hat walking along with a fancy cane! He reminds me of my Grandfather!

Good job George and I'm glad to see you and Rob upping the bar on your posts! We all benefit and can be proud of our work. Cheers!

Gentleman I really appreciate the kind words. These few photos could never represent how amazing this event was. Especially some really amazing older folks that we spoke to and shared life moments with. Cheers.

Yes George talking to the older folks is a big plus! I find they have so much to add to their experiences from their time. I love talking to the owners of fine cars especially if they're older than me! Cheers, Mario

As amazing as this show was for the antique machinery (cars and tractors), meeting and talking to some of these older folks, made the whole event worth while. Cheers.
