Fred Howard's '64 Plymouth Belvedere Max Wedge

Back to the Future

426 max wedge

1964 plymouth belvedere max wedge

1964 plymouth belvedere max wedge

The most difficult part about locating the car...it needed to be a factory 4spd 426 car, like my original.

I saw one of these at a car show this past summer. She got second place...that was bulllllcrap...the funny thing about her car - she was one of the people who made it as it went down the line at Plymouth.

my buddy in Creston,Iowa owned a car almost exact except it's interior was red to match and the 426 wedge was a single 4 barrel carb.

the year was 1969/70 our last year of high school - we drove it to South Dakota in the 1970 winter!

this was one haul'n mopar and would take most 383 beep beep's anyday of the week!!

hang on to this jewel!

there is not a 383 made that will even get close to this car. This is the way it rolled off the assy line and it was a mean machine.

Max Wedge was supreme. I drove everything all the way to Alcohol Funny Car. I owned a 70 Hemi Cuda. The 64 Max Wedge was the best street car ever. I would give my right (you know) to own one of these. I drove one in '68 and that is the ride I remember most.

I am the current owner of this exact car right now. I have owned it for almost 3 years. It has about 68,000 miles on the car but I just had a $12,000 engine rebuild done on it in 2012 with only about 400 miles since. I bought the car for 56K and have put another 25k into it since, improving the drive train and paint. I am selling this car fo $60,000 or best offer. All offers will be considered. Please contact me at makkyl@yahoo.com for more info. I am located in Northern California.
