I had a '61 Catalina bubbletop all factory w/ 389 & 3-2's had dual air intakes that ran up under the front bumper but mine had a Hurst 3 speed on the floor with a long 1st and 2nd gear. Those close ratio muncies had a hard time to keep up with me they were too busy changing gears

A great looking 1961 Catalina. Perhaps Pontiac's best of the 60's.

Thank you for the comment on my '61. It is a car that I have admired for many years and I have tired to restore it with period correct features and mostly original parts. It has taken several years to reach this point. dt

In '61 there were a few factory racers offered these parts over the counter along with a cam change, McKeller # something, I can't remember, that started factory/experimental class. I heard of one with an aluminum front sheet metal. MikeFenby

Hi, absolutely stunning pontiac . I could have bought a twin to this car last year for 33k. I passed and lost out. I called the owner back on the day he had finalized the sale. I have been looking for another since. Just curious on the value you would put on the car " if it was for sale" . Thanks, Mr. G.

Hi and thanks for your interest in my '61. I am not interested in selling the car at this time, but would think that it should bring $30K+ due to the rarity of the model and details that I have added. Bucket seats alone are probably 5 - 8K. Good luck in your search for a great Pontiac. dt

They also made cast iron ones for speedway racing as the aluminum ones would melt in the long haul. Mike Fenby
